John Julian
B.A, BSW, MAASW (Accred.)
is a personal development consultant, counsellor and recognised mental
health trainer in Victoria having trained hundreds of professionals over
the last two years. He was a leading reformer of the mental health
services in the 1980’s in Victoria bringing about legislative change as
well as creating a large section of the Psychiatric Disability
Rehabilitation sector that exists in Victoria today. He has assisted many
groups to achieve the changes they needed to be more effective with the
people they assist.
As a counsellor with over twenty five years experience John has assisted
many people to regain a sense of balance and happiness, being able to
re-connect with life and more clearly identify and assess their own needs
while communicating respectfully and compassionately with the world and
others. John actively uses the Dharma in his counselling work and has had
a special focus on mindfulness approaches for over ten years. He also
teaches meditation (Calm Abiding – see Jamchen Buddhist Centre).
